Dover immigrants deaths men cleared of manslaughter

A Dutch court has convicted eight people of negligence in the deaths last June of 58 Chinese illegal immigrants whose bodies were found in the back of a truck in Dover.

Two defendants, Gursel Ozcan and Haci Demir, received nine year sentences and were fined 97,000 guilders (£27,000). The others received sentences ranging from 30 months to seven years.
