Nurse digs own grave and burns herself to death

A Russian nurse, depressed at not being paid for months, dug her own grave and burned herself to death.

Alexandra Prokhorova, from Mordovia, showed neighbours the grave before dousing herself with petrol.

Police say they had difficulty identifying the 52-year-old's body.

According to reports her neighbours in Bersenevka village had tried to calm her down and make her change her mind.

The paper says she told them: "Bury me here" as she dug her grave.
