Europe's tallest building planned for London

Plans have been drawn up to build Europe's tallest building in London.

Developers have announced they will shortly submit a planning application to build a 1,016ft building at London Bridge Station.

The 66-floor London Bridge Tower, designed by internationally renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano, would be twice as high as the London Eye.

The building will include commercial, leisure and residential space.

The Sellar Property Group is shortly to submit a planning application to the London Borough of Southwark.

It follows almost 12 months of intensive discussions and consultations with local residents, business and political leaders as well as key advisory bodies.

Developers say the plans will deliver a landmark building that will be the envy of the world.
