Welsh ex-pats want to ban Ann Robinson from the US

Anne Robinson could be banned from hosting the Weakest Link in America.

The television presenter has enraged a group of Welsh Americans after branding the Welsh irritating.

The ex-pats say they will ask for her visa to be blocked so that she cannot work in the US.

Anne is currently filming a US version of the Weakest Link in America.

Lawyer Rhys Lloyd says he will protest to NBC and call upon the state department to deny her a visa.

"We believe her racist speech should be enough to deny her a visa unless or until it is retracted and repudiated," he told the BBC.

"Racism against the Welsh should be treated with no less dignity by the US government than racism against blacks, Jews or any racial or ethnic group."

Vale of Clwyd MP Chris Ruane is also calling for Anne to be sacked in the UK.

The matter is to be investigated by the BBC board of governors.
