Commuter train in 'minor' collision

Two rush-hour passenger trains were involved in a minor collision today, British Transport Police said.

There were no casualties reported after the two trains ‘‘clipped’’ each other at Hither Green Station near Lewisham, south east London, a spokesman said.

There was little damage and no smashed windows in the low-speed impact, which happened at around 8.30am, he added.

‘‘It was a very minor collision in which the two trains just clipped sides,’’ the spokesman added.

One train was travelling from Sevenoaks in Kent to London’s Cannon Street station while the other was going from Crayford, Kent, to Cannon Street.
