Earthquake rocks Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale has struck in Indonesia.

The Hong Kong Observatory said the epicentre of the tremor was near southern Sumatra.

There were no reports of casualties.

The Australian Age reports an earthquake measuring five on the Richter scale is capable of causing considerable damage.
