Hunting campaigners postpone march
The pro-hunting Countryside Alliance has postponed its planned march due to take place in London on March 18 because of the foot and mouth outbreak.
The move was made over fears that thousands of farmers and rural dwellers arriving in the capital could have safety consequences after the disease hit farms nationwide.
Organisers say the march will not take place until at least early May.
An Alliance spokesman said: "Our prime concern in taking this decision is to act primarily and responsibly, especially in the interests of Britain's farmers as well as our own members and supporters".
