German Jews to sue hate site ISPs

A German Jewish group is threatening to sue ISPs which host and allow access to neo-Nazi and far right websites.

The Central Council of Jews claims the German Government is acting too slowly in applying laws that ban material which glorifies Nazis or the Third Reich on the internet.

They estimate that up to 800 hate sites exist on the internet and can be accessed by German surfers.

This action follows a recent French ruling against Yahoo which was ordered to block people in France from accessing auctions where Nazi memorabilia was being sold.

This led to Yahoo banning any items that promote the Nazis, Ku Klux Klan and other hate groups from their site.
