EU congratulates Sharon on election victory

The European Union has congratulated Ariel Sharon after his sweeping election victory and urged him to keep the peace process alive.

Swedish Prime Minister Goeran Persson says he is looking forward to co-operation in order to continue the process towards fair and sustainable peace in the region.
