Bush to be formally sworn in today

George W Bush is to be formally inaugurated as the 43rd President of the USA later today. The Irish Government will be represented at today's ceremony by our ambassador in Washington, Sean O'hUiginn.

Bill Clinton leaves office after eight years as the most popular president in recent years. The outgoing president is working right up to his last minutes of power and, according to reports, has locked himself in the White House Oval Office frantically signing a large number of pardons.
