Brits boost for troubled All Saints
Troubled girl band All Saints have had their spirits lifted when they were nominated for the Best British Group Award at this year's Brits ceremony.
The foursome, who are rumoured to be on the verge of splitting up, will battle it out with Coldplay, Radiohead, Moloko and Toploader for the prestigious gong.
But dominating this year's nominations is R&B star Craig David, who has made the shortlist in four categories, including Best British Male Solo Artist, Best British Dance Act and Best British Newcomer.
The Southampton based man, who released his debut single, Fill Me In, only nine months ago, is no stranger to award ceremonies, picking up three gongs at the Music of Black Origin (Mobo) Awards last October.
Other acts which feature well in this year's nominations include newcomers Coldplay who received three nominations and the Oxford based Radiohead whose recent album Kid A has been a smash on both sides of the Atlantic.
New dad, Fat Boy Slim, aka Norman Cook, can wet the baby's head in style after picking up nominations in the categories of Best British Dance Act and Best British Male Solo Artist.
In the international categories Madonna will go head to head with the pretenders to her crown Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue.
Eminem is also nominated in the Best International Male Solo Artist where he will battle it out with Ronan Keating and Ricky Martin.
It was also announced that U2 will be honoured at the Brits ceremony next month when they receive an award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.
The ceremony will take place on February 26 and will be hosted by TV presenters Ant and Dec.
