Johnny and Denise say farewell to The Big Breakfast

A Swedish Elvis impersonator serenaded Johnny Vaughan and Denise Van Outen as they began their last edition of The Big Breakfast today.

About 500 fans gathered outside the lock-keeper's cottages in London where the show is made to say farewell to the pair.

Other guests on today's farewell edition were Lionel Blair, Elvis Costello and John McCririck.

Johnny and Denise have been presenting The Big Breakfast on Channel 4 for three years.

For their last Vital Statistics slot they put the programme itself under the spotlight, revealing that they had spent 1,023 hours presenting it.

A new team of Paul Tonkinson, Amanda Byram, Donna Air, Melanie Sykes and Richard Bacon will take over on January 22.

Next week's guest presenters include Hollyoaks cast members, Patsy Kensit, Paul Daniels, Lisa and Faye from Steps and Richard Whiteley.
