Australian Republicans renew bid to axe Queen

Republicans who want to remove the Queen as Australia's head of state have resumed their campaign, just over a year after losing a key referendum.

The Australian Republican Movement will try to revive its fortunes by linking its campaign for a native head of state to celebrations this year commemorating 100 years of independence.
