A Russian man has set off from Australia and is attempting to break the world record for travelling around the world solo in a hot-air balloon.

Fedor Konyukhov is a bit of a daredevil. The 64-year-old Russian-Orthodox priest has climbed Mount Everest, walked to the North and South Poles, and rowed 16,000 kilometres across the Pacific Ocean.

The world record currently stands at 13-and-a-half days set by American Steve Fossett in 2002.
