The size of this hail stone will blow your mind

We tend to complain a lot about the weather here in Ireland, but at least we are spared the extremes faced by those in the US at this time of year.

At the moment they’re right in the middle of tornado season and it’s fair to say some of the storms they have faced in the last two months have been severe.

Nebraska was another state to suffer from tornadoes in the last few days and a by product of their formation can be crazy-sized hail stones.

Residents of the state have been posting pictures to the Nebraska through the lens Facebook group of huge hail storms that hit over the last few days.

On Monday one of those storms over the city of Lincoln produced one of the biggest hail stones we’ve ever seen. Heather Meyer? found it in her back garden and it’s absolutely massive.

That could do some damage!

Another giant hail stone in the city fell with such force it punched a hole in Jody Lastine Klein’s gutter.

We think it’s time for reinforced umbrellas!
