The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have released time-lapse footage of the Northern and Southern Lights as the International Space Station flies past them.

The Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis are produced when electrically charged particles from the sun collide with the Earth’s upper atmosphere, exciting neutral particles and causing them to glow.
