Crematorium workers in Pan’an in the eastern province of Zhejiang were getting ready to cremate the body but were astounded when the child suddenly started moaning.

A day earlier, the child had been declared dead, and doctors quickly contacted the father to tell him of the miraculous recovery.

“It’s the first time I’ve seen this. It’s a true miracle,” said a doctor at the Pan’an hospital.

Following his premature birth, the child spent 23 days in an incubator before he was taken home by his father for the start of the Lunar New Year.

Unfortunately, the child’s condition deteriorated a few days later. He was declared dead on February 4 after his heart had stopped beating.

Before the baby was sent to the morgue, his father had wrapped him in two layers of clothing and a thick bag — which may have contributed to his miracle survival.
