Tom Jones to check black ancestry with DNA testing

Tom Jones plans to undergo DNA testing to see if he has black ancestry, after being told he is “just passing as white”.

The Welsh singer said he was often mistaken for being black, partly because of his voice and partly because of his thick, curly hair, which is now white but used to be black.

Jones, 75, who sang ‘Delilah’ and ‘Sex Bomb’ in a career spanning six decades, explained to The Times magazine: “A lot of people still think I’m black.
