VIDEO: A pistol shot in slow motion is a terrifyingly beautiful sight

Mythbusters is one of the best shows on TV and it is because of videos like this that it is easy to see why it is still a favourite for many of us.

Hosts Adam and Jamie are no stranger to firing guns in their experiments but they have never done something like this before.

They recorded the moment a bullet was fired from a handgun at a rate of 73,000 frames per second.

The results, an absolutely stunning and beautiful slow motion video.

"We’ve just taken a shot with a high speed camera called the Phantom of the bullet exiting the gun at 73,000 frames per second.

"73,000! I seriously had no idea it would be that lovely!"
