Gwen Stefani splits from husband Gavin Rossdale

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have announced they are calling time on their marriage after 13 years.

The 45-year-old ‘Hollaback Girl’ singer and the 49-year-old British rocker have three sons, nine-year-old Kingston, six-year-old Zuma, and 17-month-old Apollo.

The couple said: “While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.

“To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time.”

Stefani filed divorce papers in California citing irreconcilable differences and Rossdale filed his response at the same time.

Both parties are seeking joint custody of their three boys.

The couple met in 1995 when Stefani’s band No Doubt toured with Rossdale’s rock group Bush.

The couple had been dogged by split rumours in recent years.

Stefani has recently spent time alone, getting back to nature in the Montana wilderness with her youngest son.

The Don’t Speak singer shared pictures of the trip on Instagram declared it her favourite vacation ever.

Neither Stefani nor Rossdale’s attorneys immediately responded to emails seeking comment.

The couple dated for six years before they wed in 2002.
