iPhone is found after 9,300ft drop from plane
The Wichita Falls Times Record News reported that Ben Wilson says his mobile phone still works.
Wilson says he and a pilot were travelling home Monday in a Beechcraft Bonanza when a pressure change caused the passenger door to open slightly. Wilson didnât realise his phone fell out until after landing.
âThe pressure popped and a newspaper flew out but I didnât see the phone go. After we got back I looked for it on the floor (of the plane) and in my briefcase but couldnât find it,â Wilson told the Times Record.
Wilson owns Gas Corporation of America in Wichita Falls. He and an employee used an app to narrow the search to near Jacksboro, more than 50 miles away.
âWe used his Find My iPhone app and learned it was still alive,â said John Kidwell, Gas Corpâs vice president of sales.
The pair set out to search on Tuesday and ended up in a rural pasture, finding the phone under a mesquite tree.
The phone apparently survived the fall suffering just a few scratches, supposedly saved by its rugged case.
