VIDEO: Experiments with water in outer space are mind-bendingly cool

One of the most interesting things to do on the International Space Station is play with water. It’s a fundamental substance for life that is so familiar - but transforms entirely once in space.

However, in a zero-gravity environment, water collects itself. It can be tied down with wire, turned into a lens like glass, and be almost solid thanks to its own surface tension.

Entertainment site Sploid took video of experiments on the behaviour of water in space and edited them together for this fascinating view on how this everyday liquid is a completely different kettle of liquid up there.
