QUIRKY WORLD ... ‘Dead’ man moves his arm and leg for first responders

They had gone to the 46-year-old man’s high-rise building after his worried girlfriend called for assistance, saying she had not heard from him for two days, according to a medical examiner’s report.

When they arrived at his apartment, they found him cold, pale, and rigid at the foot of his bed. They did not try to resuscitate him. About 50 minutes later, the medical examiner arrived and notified the man’s family of his death.

As the examiner readied the body for the morgue, the man began to move his left arm and right leg.

Paramedics took the man to a nearby hospital, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Mary had a little lamb

GERMANY: Police detained a 25-year-old prostitute for keeping a three-week-old lamb named Birke as a pet in a Munich brothel, police said in a statement.

The woman was also briefly detained for drug possession — she and her lamb were discovered during a narcotics raid. Prostitution itself is legal in Germany. Keeping a lamb in a brothel evidently is not.

Police said the woman showed them a letter from veterinary authorities laying out the conditions in which a lamb should be raised. Those conditions did not include inside a brothel, so she was forbidden to keep the lamb, police said. “The lamb was turned over to an animal protection group,” the statement said.

Last laugh

ENGLAND: A man “fat-shamed” on social media after pictures of him dancing were posted online has got his own back on the trolls by partying with stars in Los Angeles.

Sean O’Brien attracted global support after he was anonymously trolled on Twitter, and was dubbed “The Dancing Man” by a social media campaign that tracked him down.

The Liverpudlian became an unlikely celebrity and this weekend visited LA, where he appeared on TV dancing with pop star Meghan Trainor before partying at the Avalon nightclub.

Voting frenzy

USA: An Arizona woman was sentenced to three years in prison for running over her husband with the family car because he failed to vote in the 2012 presidential election, court officials said.

Holly Nicole Solomon, 31, pleaded guilty in April to two counts of aggravated assault under a plea agreement with prosecutors over the incident at a car park in Gilbert, Phoenix.

Police said Solomon was upset with her husband, Daniel Solomon, in the days following the November 6 re-election of Barack Obama and believed the family would face hardship from his winning another term.

The 36-year-old man suffered a fractured pelvis from being run over following a wild chase on November 10, 2012, that left him pinned beneath the Jeep. Solomon was also sentenced to four years of supervised probation by Judge Joseph Kreamer in Maricopa County Superior Court in Phoenix.

“This is just such a tragic case,” Solomon’s lawyer Todd Nolan, said, adding the couple has since divorced.

Police said witnesses told them the couple were arguing in the car park before the fight began to escalate. Solomon then chased her husband with the car, yelling at him as he tried to hide behind a light pole. He was ultimately struck as he attempted to flee. Solomon had claimed she was only trying to frighten her husband, but that her foot slipped while on the accelerator, causing her to hit him.
