The video shows stunning views of Kerry from over 30km above the county after the launch had taken place at Met Eireann's Valentia Observatory in Cahersiveen.

Gerard, a final year Computer Science student and the 'Emutex Software Innovator Of The Year' winner, planned the project himself to research weather conditions in the earth's stratosphere.

The balloon landed 200 km east of the launch site outside Cashel in Co. Tipperary.
