Bride-to-be dies in crash minutes after taking selfie
Collette Moreno, 26, who had a five-year-old son, was in the passenger seat being driven to t Missouri by Ashley Theobold when she was involved in a crash.
Ms Theobold, who was driving, was trying to pass a truck when she collided with a car coming the other way.
The pair were on the way to Ms Moreno’s hen party when the crash happened.
Ms Theobold said that they were trying to pass the truck because it was emitting exhaust fumes, which were causing Ms Moreno, an asthmatic, to cough.
Both Ms Theobold and Ms Moreno thought the way was clear to pass.
“We both thought it was clear and there was a hill that neither one of us saw.
“I tried to go around and there was a truck coming and I swerved and he swerved with me.”
Ms Moreno’s tearful fiance, 28-year-old Jesse Arcobasso, said they had made loads of plans. “She was so excited,” he said.
Ms Theobald suffered minor injuries.
“I’ve never had a friend like her. I won’t ever have a friend like her,” she said.
The family has set up a fund in her memory.
Ms Moreno had been planned to marry Mr
Arcobasso next month in Jamaica, reports said.
