Fatwa against Muslims wishing to live on Mars

The company behind the Mars One mission has urged Muslims to travel to Mars — after Muslim clerics reportedly issued a ruling against anyone who tries to set up house on the red planet.

A fatwa has been issued after religious leaders considered interplanetary colonialism.

According to reports, the decree was issued by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowment in the United Arab Emirates after the Mars One organisation said it aimed to establish a settlement on Mars by 2025.
