Rocket ‘proves Kim’s ability’

North Korea’s leadership is calling the successful launch of a satellite proof that Kim Jong Un has the strength to lead the country.

He attended a memorial service at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium on the eve of his father’s, Kim Jong Il’s, first anniversary.

North Korea sent a long-range rocket into space in his honour this week, defying international warnings it would be seen as a banned missile test.
