Arrest after threats over Hillsborough tattoo

A man has been arrested over alleged threats to a football fan who got a tattoo about the Hillsborough disaster.

Danny Hornby, from Fleetwood, Lancashire, posted a picture on his Twitter page of a tattoo on his back which reads “96wne”.

The letters “wne” are thought to stand for “was not enough”.

The image provoked a torrent of abuse from Liverpool supporters who were outraged at the reference to the tragedy of the 1989 FA Cup semi-final in which 96 fans died.

Mr Hornby, 22, reported to be a Manchester United supporter, has moved out of his home town and has since been offered advice by police about the posting.
