Heroic driver saved 24 lives

A bus driver who saved 24 of his passengers after being fatally injured by a piece of metal that flew through his bus’s windshield has been praised as a hero in China.

Wu Bin, 48, died on Friday three days after the freak accident. But at the time, he maintained control of his vehicle and ensured passengers’ safety despite being struck by a chunk of iron.

After the incident, Bin managed to brake, shift gears and tell passengers not to wander onto the highway. His hometown of Hangzhou has praised him as a hero and role model.
