Former supporter Damon in another stinging attack on Obama

ACTOR Matt Damon has launched a scathing attack on Barack Obama again, this time saying the US president doesn’t have any “balls.”

Once one of Obama’s biggest followers, Damon slammed Obama in an Elle magazine interview.

“I’ve talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grassroots level,” Damon said. “One of them said to me, ‘Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politician.’

“You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better,” Damon claimed.

Speaking on the Occupy protests, Damon said: “If the Democrats think that they didn’t have a mandate — people are literally without any focus or leadership, just wandering out into the streets to yell right now because they are so pissed off. Imagine if they had a leader.”

It’s not the first time the Oscar-nominated actor has criticised Obama.

Last year, Damon said Obama “misinterpreted his mandate” by extending the Bush-era tax cuts.

Obama, in response, joked about Damon’s comments at the White House Correspondent’s Ball.

“I’ve even let down my key core constituency: movie stars. Just the other day, Matt Damon — I love Matt Damon, love the guy — Matt Damon said he was disappointed in my performance. Well, Matt, I just saw The Adjustment Bureau, so right back atcha, buddy.”

Damon had been one of the biggest Hollywood stars to stump for Obama during his 2008 election campaign.

He attended fundraisers and was vocal in his support for the Democrat.

Meanwhile, Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney said he would deport Obama’s uncle, who police say was arrested in August for drink-driving and is an illegal immigrant.

In an interview, Romney replied “yes” when asked if Onyango Obama should be deported.

Romney at first did not recognise the name, but said the nation’s immigration laws should be enforced.

Onyango Obama is the 67-year-old half-brother of the president’s late father.
