Grease star in drug coma

TAXI and Grease star Jeff Conaway is in a coma following a drug overdose, possibly from pain pills, his manager has said.

Phil Brock said the 60-year-old actor was found unconscious on May 11.

Brock said Conaway is in a coma in an Encino, California hospital and his recovery is uncertain. The name of the hospital was not disclosed.

As part of the reality TV show Celebrity Rehab in 2008, Conaway discussed his addiction to drugs and alcohol, stemming from a long-standing back injury.

Conaway starred in the 1978 movie musical Grease, sitcom Taxi and the sci-fi series Babylon 5.
