Miller accepts €115k to end hacking lawsuit

ACTRESS Sienna Miller agreed to accept £100,000 (almost €115,000) from News Corp to end her lawsuit against the company’s News of the World newspaper, which hacked into her voicemail to get scoops about her private life.

“Miller is proceeding in this way because all of her claims have been admitted,” Hugh Tomlinson, her lawyer, said in court. The company “capitulated” by admitting in court it used hacked voicemails to publish 11 stories about Miller in 2005 and 2006, he said.

Under the deal, News Corp will also disclose the relevant contents from about 8,000 emails and possibly some journalists’ notebooks.
