Truck flips over killing 33

AT LEAST 33 people have been killed after an open truck carrying a wedding party rolled into a gorge in India’s mountainous north.

The truck flipped over at a bend in the road and plunged into the 300ft gorge in Himachal Pradesh state’s Chamba district, nearly 160km north-west of the town of Dharmsala.

Rescuers recovered 33 bodies and took seven injured people to hospital, said a police spokesman.
