Dylan artwork goes on show
Curator Kasper Monrad said the paintings in Dylan’s Brazil Series were specifically made for the exhibition, open from today until January 30.
The collection includes figurative scenes from Brazilian slums, farms and beaches. “I chose Brazil as a subject, because I have been there many times and I like the atmosphere,” the folk singer, 69, said.
The museum, which has a large collection of paintings by French painter Henri Matisse, contacted Dylan in 2008. Both the Brazil Series and Dylan’s watercolors are rooted in Matisse, museum director Karsten Ohrt said.
