Cheryl treated for malaria

POP star Cheryl Cole is in hospital after apparently contracting malaria while on holiday in east Africa, her spokesman said yesterday.

The 27-year-old Girls Aloud singer recently split from her England and Chelsea footballer husband Ashley, collapsed at a photo-shoot on Saturday and was taken to an exclusive hospital in London on Sunday. “Cheryl Cole is currently in hospital, being treated for malaria,” her spokesman said.

“Following doctors’ advice, she will be cancelling all work commitments for the next week.”
