Emergency to end: Thai PM

THAILAND’S prime minister said he believes a state of emergency will be lifted in many areas soon.

Abhisit Vejjajiva said his cabinet will resolve the controversial issue tomorrow. He also said the government will loosen some restrictions in areas where the emergency remains in effect.

The government declared a state of emergency in 24 provinces, including Bangkok, in the wake of political protests.
