Cheryl tops online search

SINGER Cheryl Cole scored a new number one — after topping a chart of online celebrity searches.

A study of mobile users’ most searched-for stars revealed the X Factor judge’s name was 40% more popular than nearest rivals, singer Miley Cyrus and Twilight heart-throb Robert Pattinson.

Cole, who recently split from soccer star husband Ashley, topped the list among Orange customers, the company’s Orange Digital Media Index showed.

Her music is just as popular — with thousands of the erstwhile Girls Aloud star’s tracks downloaded each month from the Orange Music Store, with her Fight For This Love beating New York sensation Lady Gaga and The Black Eyed Peas to top its download chart.
