Italian woman has sextuplets
The ANSA news agency says the babies – boys Paolo and Maurizio, and girls Francesca Pia, Angelica, Annachiara and Serena – are in good condition. The babies each weighed between 610 and 800 grams.
They were born on Sunday in the 27th week of pregnancy to 32-year-old Carmela Oliva in Benevento, near Naples.
Father Pino Mele told RAI television he hopes the sextuplets’ grandparents help out, saying they’re the first grandchildren in the family. ANSA says it’s the first case of sextuplets in Italy since 1997.
