JFK rifle house sold for $175k

A DALLAS suburb agreed to pay $175,000 (€120,750) for the house where Lee Harvey Oswald stored the rifle used to assassinate US President John F Kennedy.

The Dallas Morning News reported that the sum the Irving City Council agreed to pay was above the $84,000 (€57,960) the Dallas Central Appraisal District lists for the house. But Mayor Herbert Gears said it was worth it as the house is a piece of history.

The city has not decided what to do with the house.

It once belonged to Ruth Paine, who hosted Oswald’s estranged wife.
