Man accused of Defoe killing

A 34-YEAR-OLD man accused of murdering the half-brother of England striker Jermain Defoe appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday.

Christopher Farley, of Kingswood Road, Leytonstone, east London, is said to have punched 26-year-old Jade Defoe.

Jade, a popular rapper on the “grime” music scene, died in hospital from a head injury a few days after the alleged attack in Leytonstone in April.

His half-brother Jermain plays for Tottenham Hotspur.

Farley was remanded in custody yesterday for a plea and case management hearing due to be held on September 1.
