AMERICAN presidential hopeful John McCain reached out to evangelical Christians this weekend and enjoyed a campaign boost after the first joint appearance of the two candidates.

McCain briefly shook hands with his democratic opponent Barack Obama during a two-hour questions-and-answers session on faith and moral issues with America’s most prominent Christian preacher.
