Scientologists hit back over Cruise Nazi comparison

THE Church of Scientology accused a German newspaper of being “grossly irresponsible” yesterday for publishing comments by a historian comparing a speech by Hollywood star Tom Cruise to one by a Nazi minister.

The church, of which the Mission Impossible star is a leading member, said the claims of second world war historian Guido Knopp, published by the Bild tabloid, were “horrendous and disgraceful”.

The WW2 writer said the Mission Impossible star’s speech to other Scientology members, leaked on to the internet last week, was reminiscent of a 1943 speech by propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels.
