Hooked on world record bid

A CIRCUS performer was attempting to set a world record last night by pulling a four-ton van with hooks attached to his back.

Hannibal Helmurto, a performer with the Circus of Horrors, was trying to drag the heavy vehicle more than 100m along Prince’s Street in Edinburgh, Scotland, with two meat hooks stuck into his back.

If he succeeds, Mr Helmurto will break the record he set last year, when he pulled a van exactly 100m, a feat which secured him a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
