SMILING broadly, the French nun who claims she was inexplicably and suddenly “cured” of Parkinson’s disease thanks to Pope John Paul II, yesterday spoke to the media for the first time.

If the Vatican accepts her claims, it could be the miracle needed to beatify the late pontiff.

Sister Marie Simon-Pierre stopped short of declaring her recovery a miracle, saying that was for the church to decide. But she said her life “totally changed” after her symptoms vanished in a night of prayer in 2005.
