Try-again-O’Toole collects eighth Oscar nomination

IRISH actor Peter O’Toole picked up his eighth Oscar nomination yesterday at age 74.

The Lawrence of Arabia star, who was nominated for the first time in 24 years, was credited for his performance as an ageing actor falling for a young woman in Venus.

The screen veteran, who has been nominated and lost seven times, will enter the record books as the actor with the most nominations without winning if he fails to pick up an Oscar this year.
