Tarrant tracked by private investigators

Ingrid Tarrant, 51, said she became aware of the British TV host’s affair with another woman “several months ago.”

Ingrid, who was quoted as saying yesterday “I really cannot bear to be compared to that f****** little cow” said she regretted her outburst.

She said the divorce, and the settlement, would be conducted “in a fair and civil manner.”

She said she had already told her husband their marriage was over when he behaved “indiscreetly” in a wine bar.

She said: “I became aware of Chris’ infidelity several months ago and eventually gained positive proof from private investigators.

“I was shocked at the discovery, but disguised my shattered heart by putting on a brave face.

“I maintained a dignified silence throughout this time in an attempt to prevent the true facts from emerging.

“Unfortunately Chris drew unwelcome attention by behaving indiscreetly in a wine bar, which first prompted speculation.”

Tarrant, 59, was reported to have been having a fling with deputy headteacher Fiona McKechnie, 50, a trustee at the Headway brain injury charity where the €5.2 million a year TV star is a patron.

His wife is thought to have had suspicions for months, putting a tracking device in his car and hiring private detectives.
