Ireland retreats from open-arms approach to EU membership, says poll

IRELAND is gradually moving into the mainstream of European thought on the EU if the latest Euro barometers are anything to go by.

Citizens are still responding very warmly to issues as to how much they trust the commission, the parliament and the council.

They still regard EU membership as a good thing and quote the benefits as no problem.
