Chirac attack on British food

FRENCH President Jacques Chirac told the leaders of Russia and Germany during discussions on Britain and the EU that you can’t trust people who have such bad food and whose only contribution to agriculture was mad cow disease.

Calling it the latest sign of strain between France and Britain, the daily Liberation recounted a conversation it said was overheard by one of its reporters at Sunday’s summit in Kaliningrad, Russia.

Chirac’s spokesman said he had not heard the exchange and did not want to comment.
