Driver killed in Euro 2004 crash

A BUS carrying about 50 Croat soccer fans to Portugal for Euro 2004 crashed with a speeding car in Slovenia yesterday, killing the car driver.

The bus driver and 19 fans suffered minor injuries and were treated at hospitals.

The 21-year-old car driver was fleeing a police patrol that wanted to stop him for speeding on the road between Zagreb and Ljubljana.
