US and Britain divided over control of Iraq

THERE were deepening divisions between the US and Britain last night over who should control Iraq in the aftermath of the war.

The US Secretary of State Colin Powell is set to face tough questions when he meets EU foreign ministers and NATO representatives in Brussels later today.

The meeting, comes against a backdrop of division between Britain and the US over the role of the United Nations in post-war Iraq.
